 | We aim to give you every opportunity to use your time in Folkestone productively.
So every week you get… two evenings a week of free in-school activities. These are designed to create fun and excitement with your friends. It is not only the activity that creates the fun but also how it is set up and who leads it. Our team of teachers and staff make sure you laugh all evening with competitions, quizzes and games and that every event is memorable. one ‘pay as you go’ evening event. This could be a pop concert at the local theatre, a bowling trip to a local town, an evening ice skating or even a karaoke night at a pub. one ‘pay as you go’ full-day excursion. This could be to one of the many interesting destinations near Folkestone, such as London, Oxford, or Windsor.
“Pay as you go” means that you pay a small fee for the activity. We only ask you to pay to cover the cost of the activity – we do not make profit from you on this.
Please note that some activities depend on there being enough students who want to take part.

Entertainment “What’s on in Folkestone” – an introduction to opportunities to keep yourself very busy “Who wants to be a millionaire” quiz game – can you win £1m for your team? “Make English Friends” – we organise social evening for you to meet and develop friendship with English people like you Pop quiz – how good is your music knowledge “Food like Mama makes!” – Your chance to impress your friends with food from your home country Fun games with English – Solve problems and win for your team Film night – come to school to watch the latest films on our wide screen TV Line Dancing – fun and exercise learning traditional cowboy dancing! Don’t miss it “Funky Seminars” – spend an evening with an expert! Lots of seminars from “Positive Thinking” to “Learning how to relax” to “Mind Power” Skill development “Look after yourself” – Fun Self Defence Class – increase your self-confidence in this fun and physical class “You can paint” – a short series of workshops that prove you are a creative artist – you will be surprised “It’s show time!” – Everyone joins to produce a spectacular show “Shall we dance?” – Learn how to Salsa with our professional teacher “The Karaoke Factor” – Rehearse and develop your singing ready for an evening in a local karaoke pub Giving Massage – learn how to help your friends relax and “unwind” in this series of lessons – practical exercises for everyone to try!

Examples of “pay as you go” excursions London – with a guided walking tour of some of the major sites Brighton – a cosmopolitan town by the sea – visit the Royal Pavilion and do some great shopping! Windsor – visit the castle and learn about the history of the royal family Canterbury – a short bus ride takes you to experience the charm, history and culture of this unique city Rye – “A stone’s throw” from Folkestone – quaint and charming France – (subject to visa status) – only 35 minutes from Folkestone – compare and contract the French and English culture – take time to sample French cooking and do your shopping for great value bargains
